Q and A with Dr. B: Am I Too Pushy?

topic: dating advice

red_lips_and_cubesQ   This guy I was dating said I always have an opinion on everything. I asked him if he meant that I was too pushy or talked too much. He said no, but that I had something to say on whatever topic came up. He said he liked it better when the woman knows less than he does. I always thought being informed on a lot of topics was a gift but maybe I was wrong. Should I tone it down and let others be in the know?
                                Maybe Too Pushy

A  Sounds like you were dating my Dad. Back in the old days, when I was 13, he told me that I shouldn't let the boys know how smart I was. He said boys like to think they are the smarter sex and wouldn’t  be interested  in a girl with a brain.  Dad was wrong and so are you if you buy into your x-dating partner’s views. As long as you are not beating others over the head with your opinions, you are right to think of having an opinion on a variety of topics as a gift. If someone doesn’t admire your gifts, move on to someone who will.

Don’t even think about pretending to have gifts you believe a prospective partner may admire. If he or she is not into your gifts, then it is not a good match. Move on and share your goodies with someone else. With the right information and a little luck you can Win At Love.

Amen sistah! Your life will be quite dismal and unfulfilled if you are hiding all your goodies all the time!
